Tripsichore Inspired Mandala Yoga
Hope you all had a great weekend... I had a much needed quiet weekend in. Work and life have been so busy and really felt that I needed to take some time for me.
It was fabulous! Tidied up the house, got a massage, and spent some time coming up with some new ideas for my next few videos! It took a lot of trial and error before I got the flow right, but it was a lot of fun.
Today's mandala power yoga flow is inspired by a recent Tripsichore training I did with Edward Clark. Taking the idea of one breath per movement, I created an opening flow that targets the hamstrings. With every inhale you grow and lengthen and with the exhale you fold a little deeper. This continuous movement that flows from the origin (or root) of the spine to the tips of the fingers and toes, both grounds and energizes you.
I then took that concept and started to spin it around the mat to make it into a Mandala. Good news is that today's practice is only inspired by Tripsichore (you will see in the intro), so the continuous movement is only for the opening!
I loved creating it and filming it. I event taught a variation of it to the Rugby team last night, and they seemed to like it.
It's a very fluid practice with a focus on the hamstrings and lots of inversions! Feel free to exchange headstands for handstands and or pinchas.... what ever your body is asking for today.
This practice it's great to loosen up the low back and legs, build strength and lose weight. It's also a great practice to do if you're feeling worried or stressed as it taps into our root chakra, Muladhara which helps with grounding.
So grab your mat, and get ready to awaken and heat up your body with this grounding practice!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy this week's practice and it helps to balance and restore your energy, and leave you feeling relaxed and ready to conquer the week!
A regular yoga practice will help you increase flexibility, strength, tone your body, and reduce stress. Try to get on your mat at least once a week, if not 2-3 times per week.
I will be posting a new video every month, so stay tuned for more, and if there’s anything you want to see please let me know in the comments below. And as always, if you like my content, please subscribe to my channel, like my video and share with your friends!
