The Naked Smoothie Bowl
It's time to change things up! I mean, I love my homemade granola (i'll share that recipe with you soon) but occasionally I just want to jazz things up!
So this morning I decided to make my husband and I a protein packed smoothie bowl! It was amazing and reminded me of being back in beautiful, sunny California (on this very grey English summer day). So win win!
A smoothie bowl is an easy way to get lots of your daily fruit, veg (yes you can put veggies in your smoothies, and they are delicious), fiber and protein. And it's quick to make and quick to clean up!
So give it a go, and let me know what you think!
Meal: Breakfast
Cuisine: Gluten-Free, Plant-based, Vegan
Prep time: 3 minutes
Cook time: 0 minutes
Total time: 3 minutes
Servings: 1-2
Ingredients
- 250mL (1c) nut milk
- 1/2 of a small avocado
- 1 large banana, frozen is okay too
- 2 teaspoons nut butter (I prefer almond butter)
- 2 Medjool dates, pits removed (you can always add more to make it sweeter)
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon milled flaxseeds
- 1 dash of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2-3 Ice cubes, just to make it a little colder
Directions
- Add all the ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth. If it's a little too think you can always add a little more nut milk.
- Pour into a bowl, add your toppings, and enjoy!
For toppings you can use granola, bananas, some cinnamon, or fresh berries! Whatever you're in the mood for! I love the Raw Carrot, Apple & Cinnamon Granola from Primrose Kitchen
The easiest way to wash up at the end is to put some warm soapy water in the blender and give it a whizz!
If you have a chance to try it out, let me know what you think in the comments!
