Power Yoga for Weight Loss

Many people turn to yoga for different reasons. Some may turn to it for healing and relaxation, while others might be looking for a workout or to get in shape. 

As you might already know, yoga can be a great way to have fun, get in shape and lose a few extra pounds (if you want, but remember you are beautiful the way you are). 

Power Yoga can certainly help in weight loss, but you have to put in the work (as with any activity or sport) to see results. Ideally you should practice yoga at least 2 to 3 times per week, and balance it with healthy food choices (more to come on what I have started eating!). 

If you're new to power yoga, you might be wondering what other advantages it has... I know I did when I started! 

Along with weight loss, Power Yoga helps you to de-stress, boost immunity, make you feel confident and increase your concentration and memory power. That's right! You'll be more relaxed, be able to focus better and kick butt at work (or school)!!

On the physical side of things, power yoga unlike other workouts, helps you increase body strength, flexibility, stamina and helps increase metabolic rate. Now I'm not saying dump all the other exercises you love to do, but try to find a way to incorporate yoga into the mix. I mix yoga with HIIT, weight training, and cycling on a weekly basis and it really makes a difference. 

Power yoga not only helps in burning fat and toning, but also helps stimulate detoxification process within the body, enhances blood circulation, improves functioning of digestive and respiratory system and enhances overall well-being.
